August 2024 RSP Newsletter

Hello RSP Leaders!

ORIMHA is working on creating a section of our website just for you! Once it’s ready, it will be your “one stop” for the archive of our communications, events, resources, FAQs and more. Until then, we are sending the most important details via email - see below!

Important Information and Updates

If you haven’t already, please complete this survey no later than August 12! The responses are essential to ORIMHA as we plan our support of your successful implementation of IECMH Consultation. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

A HUGE thank you to all who participated in our first Community of Practice session! For those unable to attend this time, we look forward to welcoming you at a future session. What was apparent on August 1 was that there is a wealth of experience, knowledge, and enthusiasm in this group. And strong commitment to implement IECMH Consultation in ways that are truly responsive to the needs of babies, young children, families, providers, and communities. We will learn so much together and from each other!

Save the Dates

As you will see when you complete the survey, our implementation support team is hoping to begin planning sessions - in-person! - on September 5. Depending on survey responses, the gathering will be in either Salem or Bend. For RSP leaders who cannot participate on September 5, Sondra and Nichole will be reaching out to schedule virtual initial planning sessions.

We will be gathering in person with all RSPs on November 14 & 15 in Portland to go deeper into implementation planning. RSP leaders are invited and encouraged to also attend the Pyramid Summit that begins on Nov 12 and ends the afternoon on Nov 14. Contact Erin Kinavey Wennerstrom at erin@or-imha.org if you are in need of a Pyramid Summit registration.

Big Picture

This quote from Walter Gilliam really nails it:

“You can't care for babies without caring for the people who care for babies.”

– Walter Gilliam, PhD Executive Director, Buffett Early Childhood
